Welcome to Menteo. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Menteo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by:

  • These Terms of Service
  • Our Privacy Policy
  • Our Community Guidelines
  • Any additional terms applicable to specific features

User Accounts

Account Creation

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You may not share your account credentials
  • One person may only create one account

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm the platform or its users.

User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest user data
  • Use the platform for illegal activities
  • Spam users with unsolicited messages
  • Circumvent security features or access restrictions
  • Sell or transfer your account
  • Use automated tools without permission

Mentorship Services

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Provide honest and accurate information about your expertise
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions
  • Respect mentee confidentiality
  • Honor scheduled sessions or provide timely notice of cancellation

Mentee Responsibilities

  • Be respectful and professional
  • Attend scheduled sessions or cancel with notice
  • Provide honest feedback and reviews
  • Respect mentor's time and boundaries

Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Menteo a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute your content on the platform.

Platform Content

All platform features, design, code, and branding are owned by Menteo and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Payments and Fees

Some features may require payment. By purchasing, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate payment information
  • Pay all applicable fees and taxes
  • Authorize charges to your payment method
  • Accept our refund and cancellation policies (see Refund Policy below)

Paystack transaction fees charged at the time of payment are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.

Refund Policy

Eligibility for a Refund

Refunds for mentorship room payments are available under the following conditions:

  • 3-Day Window: Your refund request must be submitted within 3 calendar days of your original payment date.
  • Cohort Not Started: The mentorship cohort or room you paid for must not have commenced. Once a cohort begins, no refunds will be issued.
  • One Request Per Payment: Only one refund request is permitted per transaction.

What Is Refunded

⚠ Paystack transaction fees are non-refundable.

When you request a refund, you will receive the room price minus the Paystack processing fee that was charged at the time of your payment. This fee is retained by our payment processor and cannot be recovered by Menteo.

Example: If you paid ₦5,150 (₦5,000 room price + ₦150 transaction fee), your refund will be ₦5,000.

What Happens When You Request a Refund

  • You will be immediately removed from the mentorship room and its associated conversation upon refund request approval.
  • You will lose access to all room resources, sessions, and chat history for that room.
  • The refund is processed via Paystack back to your original payment method.

Processing Timeline

Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider. Menteo does not control the final settlement timeline once Paystack initiates the refund.

How to Request a Refund

  1. Go to Mentorship in your dashboard and open the room you paid for.
  2. Click the My Payments tab inside the room.
  3. Locate the payment and click Request Refund (only visible within the 3-day window and before the cohort starts).
  4. Enter your bank details and confirm. You will be removed from the room immediately.

Non-Refundable Items

  • Payments where the 3-day refund window has expired
  • Payments for rooms whose cohort has already started
  • Paystack transaction/processing fees
  • Platform subscription fees (Pro, Premium, Enterprise)
  • Micro-gate entry fees for live session access

Limitation of Liability

Menteo is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Actions or conduct of other users
  • Accuracy or reliability of user-generated content
  • Service interruptions or technical issues

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of [Arbitration Organization]. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification.
